Notes on the Atrocities
Like a 100-watt radio station, broadcasting to the dozens...

On the other hand, I also really appreciate well-reasoned, investigative commentary. Krugman's Tuesday/Friday cohort on the Times, Nicholas Kristof, has done some wonderful work over the past year. Before the war there was a lot of rhetoric about Iraq, so he decided to go check it out. Recently he was wondering about drilling in ANWR, so he went and checked it out. As much as I like Krugman's fire, even more I like the idea of a mind willing to consider all possibilities. Kristof is the yang to Krugman's yin.

And if you haven't seen his work on the Arctic, go have a look. The Times put together an interactive piece with pictures and commentary by Kristof that detail what he's been writing about over the past couple weeks.
